Keder Greenhouse at HMP Send
In 2025, HMP Send Horticulture Department purchased two 3m x 16m Keder Greenhouses, and they have proved to be an excellent addition to our facilities.
The quality of the structures and their practical design have exceeded expectations, and both staff and prisoners benefit from the enhanced growing and learning environment they provide.
The wooden slatted shelving system offers valuable workspace for horticultural activities, propagation, and plant management, while the automatic roof vents provide effective temperature regulation and ventilation with minimal intervention.
These features have significantly improved the usability and efficiency of our horticulture areas.
Following the success of the original installation, we were fortunate to secure additional funding and recently purchased a smaller 2m x 4m Keder Greenhouse.
One of the key advantages of this model is its modular design, allowing it to be extended in length should further funding become available in the future.
This flexibility makes it particularly well suited to organisations that may need to develop facilities incrementally.
Throughout the process, Keder Greenhouses were a pleasure to work with.
Communication was excellent, and the team demonstrated patience and understanding when navigating Ministry of Justice procurement and ordering processes. Their professionalism and support helped ensure a smooth experience from purchase through to installation.
